Divers Den is taking action on September 25th to clean up the beautiful waters of Tobermory, as well as raise awareness of issues caused by mismanaged waste. Help us clean up the harbour by attending the “Scrub the Tub” event, followed by a presentation at the Divers Den Training Center on Project Aware.
Both divers and non-divers are welcome! Divers can join the cleaning team at the bottom of the harbour and pick up litter. If required, air filling and equipment rentals are provided. Non-divers can join and help divers in the surface team, as well as collect litter around the harbour. Meet us at Divers Den at 3 pm.
The Project Aware presentation is an introduction to Project AWARE as a global movement for the ocean and lakes protection. It focuses and expands on the 10 Tips for Divers to Protect the Ocean Planet. Through interactive discussions, you’ll learn how you can make a difference for ocean protection every time you dive or travel. A dry, ‘fins off’ course, this workshop is ideal for divers and non-divers alike to gain insight into how decisions above and below the surface impact our water planet. Meet us at 6:30 pm at the Divers Den Training Center.
To the first 10 individuals who sign up for the event, we offer the Project Aware Specialty certification. Make sure to book your spot by calling us at the store at 519-596-2363 or sending us an email at info@diversden.ca.
