In response to the PADI® Pro Acquisition marketing campaign which launched last year, thousands of divers are visiting the Divemaster course page on PADI.com eager to begin their journey towards becoming a dive professional.
Traffic to the PADI Divemaster course page has increased by 41 percent since the campaign’s launch in June 2022 versus the same time frame in 2021, and an average of nearly 10,000 unique visitors per month to the page. This is a clear demonstration of diver interest to go pro. The current journey to certification on the Divemaster course page requires prospective candidates to contact a dive shop in order to purchase Divemaster eLearning and get started. However, this journey falls short of today’s consumer expectations in a world where one of the benefits of online learning is to start now. To meet the needs of these divers and better connect them with PADI Dive Centers and Resorts, the Divemaster course page on PADI.com will soon include the option to purchase Divemaster eLearning. Keep reading to find out what you need to know to be prepared for this change.
Updates to the PADI Divemaster Course Page
Becoming a PADI Divemaster takes grit, determination, and commitment. There are also many prerequisites to qualify to take the course, and course availability varies greatly from shop to shop. To ensure a positive experience for both consumers and the affiliated stores or resorts, the updated Divemaster course page will clearly spell out the course prerequisites and strongly suggest the diver contact their preferred shop prior to enrolling in Divemaster eLearning. Messages on the page include:
Clear direction to review course prerequisites and contact the dive center or resort prior to enrolling in Divemaster eLearning on the course page.
Course prerequisites listed both on the course page and in the FAQ section.
Multiple messages informing divers of the need to pay training fees and purchase additional training materials from the dive shop on the page and in the FAQs section.
Get Ready to Receive new Divemaster eLearners
As soon as you receive the email notifying you of a new Divemaster candidate, order Divemaster required teaching materials, including the Divemaster Slate Packs which are now available for ala carte purchase in the Pros’ Site online store or from your Regional Training Consultant.
After the program goes live on padi.com, create PADI Divemaster eLearning affiliate links so you can add them to your store’s or resort’s website and Divemaster course promotions.
Update your dive shop listing on padi.com. Using the Dive Shop Locator management tool, check to confirm the Divemaster course is selected as a course offered. (Alternatively, you can de-select Divemaster to hide this course from potential online learners.)
Be ready to start a PADI Divemaster course at any time to avoid customer disappointment and the potential loss of a new Divemaster candidate. Offer eLearning so the candidate can start right away and take advantage of flexible scheduling options. Your PADI Regional Manager or Regional Training Consultant can help guide you on how best to do this.
Divemaster eLearning is scheduled to launch on PADI.com in June 2023. For more information, contact your PADI Regional Training Consultant.
